This seminar is designed for certified athletic trainers seeking to advance their education in pediatric injuries and treatment.
Course Learning Objectives
- Attendees will be able to recognize common apophyseal injuries
- Attendees will review information regarding pediatric sport concussion assessment
- Attendees will review treatment strategies for return to sports following pediatric concussions

Faculty Bios
Laura Nilan, DO: A pediatrician specializing in adolescent injuries and pediatric emergency medicine. She enjoys working with pediatric athletes to help them achieve their goals and enjoy sports for life. She is especially interested in endurance sports and acute injuries. In her free time, Dr. Nilan enjoys traveling, participating in triathlons, and playing in the St. Paul Civic symphony.
Eric Crowley, MA, LAT, ATC: An athletic trainer specializing in ACL injury prevention and concussions. He is especially interested in working with athletes involved in football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball. In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with family, watching and participating in many different sports, and keeping buys with their family’s hobby farm.
